This sweet and savory feta dip is the perfect seasonal appetizer with warm sautéed apples and crisp walnuts on top! The Candied Walnuts give this creamy dip a toasty crunch for a balanced and satisfying bite. This gluten-free and vegetarian dip comes together in less than 15 minutes — quick and easy for serving a crowd!
Ingredients
Whipped feta
- 1 1/4 cup feta cheese, crumbled
- 1/2 cup Greek yogurt
- zest from one lemon
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
- ground pepper
Candied Walnut Apples
- 2 tbsp salted butter
- 1 apple, diced
- 1 tbsp honey or maple syrup, plus more to drizzle
- pinch chili flakes
- 1/2 cup Santé Candied Walnuts, roughly chopped
For serving
- 2-3 warmed pitas, cut into triangles
- 1 bunch chives, minced
- 1/4 cup Santé Candied Walnuts, roughly chopped
Instructions
- In a food processor, add the feta cheese, Greek yogurt, lemon juice, lemon zest and a pinch of ground pepper and pulse until smooth and light. Alternatively you can use a hand mixer to whip these ingredients together.
- Scoop the feta into a low, medium-sized bowl and set in the fridge until ready to use.
- To prep the apples: melt butter over medium heat in a frying pan and add apples, honey and pinch chili flakes. Cook 5-6 minutes until apples have softened. Add 1/2 cup of chopped walnuts, cooking 1 minute longer. Set aside to cool.
- Remove feta from the fridge and drizzle top with sautéed apples, another drizzle of honey if desired, more chopped walnuts, and chives. Serve with warmed pita slices.
